For this Christmas, let me guide you to make a DIY goody bag which is superbly stylish and simple.
Can you too hear ‘Jingle Bells’ somewhere near?
I’m already feeling the excitement of Santa’s one horse open sleigh dashing through the snow. Yay, it’s Christmas time again!
So have the preparations already begun?
It’s that time of the year again, when we get to decorate the Christmas tree. It’s time to make a wish upon a star; it’s the birth of Jesus Christ. Down the memory lane, I recall the days at the catholic school when we used to construct little huts and set up a village miniature that depicts the birth of the Savior (Messiah), enacted relevant skits. All of this was followed by arrival of Santa who gave us gifts and filled our hearts with cheer and joy.
Although not a Christian, but I have grown up with the religion. It is said that one can never get detached with the roots, they always remain inbuilt. Same way, the stories in bible, the life of Jesus Christ, visiting churches, wearing the sacred rosary and a lot more associated is dig deep into my heart. The season brings about a lot of thrill and excitement.
Each year on Christmas, we visit the Church and light a candle, thank the almighty for a wonderful year and pray for another year of happiness.
Kids await gifts from their favorite Santa Claus and its time we get the privilege to become their Santa to fulfill their wish.
This Christmas, let’s tickle the creative bone and make something attractive.
DIY Goody bag with step by step instructions:
Let’s make a diy paper bag, in which you can gift loved ones a surprise Christmas gift.
Things you need:
- Colored hard paper of size A3 – 2 ( I have used maroon)
- Satin Lace – ½ meter red polka dotted
- Rope string – ½ meter green
- Glittery foam sheet of A4 size – 1
- Glue Stick or fevicol
- Thread (I have used green color thread)
- Paper Punch
Step 1: Fold 2 inches from three sides of both the colored hard papers
Step 2: Apply Glue stick or fevicol at edges of all the three folded sides of one colored hard paper and then start pasting the other one on it. Let it dry completely.
Step 3: Cut a 2-3 inch strip out of the glittery foam sheet. Cut the edges zigzag. Now, cut it down to make 2 inch long pieces each. Pinch the rectangular piece to form plaits and give it a bow effect. Now, fasten it with the help of a white thread. The bow is ready.
Step 4: Start pasting bows in the centre of the paper bag in circular shape.
Step 5: Prepare a bow with the red satin lace and paste it at the lower centre of the circle formed with bows. Paste one bow in the centre of the red satin ribbon bow too. The Christmas wreath is ready 🙂
Step 6: Drill holes on the top of the paper bag proportionately with the help of a punch. Pull the green rope string into the holes and tie a knot. The handles are ready.
Feel free to decorate with desired sizes, shapes, colors, and layouts.
Do stuff the bag with your kid’s hot favorite toy or stationery and they will be super delighted to flaunt the bag you prepared.
